Hello, I'm checking how well this OC would fit your current setup. You're using an ASRock Z97 Anniversary board, paired with an i7 4790K, and you've never upgraded before. A possible goal is a 4.3GHz overclock.

the mobo supports overclocking, though with just four power phases i'm uncertain it would provide a significant boost. if it works for the i5 4670k reaching 4.0 ghs, then the i7 4790k shouldn't be an issue.

that mobo is able to handle overclocking, though with just 4 power phase designs i'm uncertain it would provide a significant boost. if it can push the i5 4670k up to 4.0 GHz, then the i7 4790k wouldn't be an issue. so i might be able to reach around 4.6GHz there? That's more than enough for me.
