Check if these are Micon, Samsung or other types. For Intel, these parts can likely exceed 3600 MHz, possibly reaching 4000 or even 3866. It's worth trying with a 10900K and Z590, though the RAM height may be a limiting factor.

they offer 4k memory modules at 3200mhz, no info on 32gb models; probably overheating issues since only 8gb 4k modules are available, not larger sizes

I’m nearly certain they’re B-die. The only corsair vengeance I’ve heard about matches that outcome. Perhaps focus on adjusting timings first. If you’re willing to move beyond cl16, you won’t notice much improvement at 3866 or 4000. It really comes down to how effectively your RAM can overclock—or even if it will. For example, my 3200 CL15 setup with Corsair LPX stays at stock speed even at 1.5v. I have a solid power supply, a quality motherboard, proper slots, and ample airflow in the case. The main issue is that they won’t budge regardless. The best approach is to stick with your desired speed and CL latency rather than chasing overclocking, unless you have budget available.

You currently have a mixed set of LPX 3200 CL16 units—one with Hynix M and one with Samsung B—each in 4x8 OC to 3600 CL18. I’m testing them now but haven’t seen full stability yet. You mentioned wanting to upgrade the kit to OC 3866/4000 and use the existing LPX in another build.

You could try, but most kits hit their limits quickly. The safest choice seems to be selecting a kit with the settings you prefer and then attempting to push it further. I've found that a 0 MHz boost is typical, and RAM behavior can be quite erratic when overclocking.

You must verify the serial number to confirm if the Corsair board is a B-Die before proceeding. Before any steps, create a bootable memtest86 and ensure your PC boots from the stick, not Windows. Once confirmed, check the timing details of the 4000MHz model. Then perform memtest with at least four passes.

It seems you're comparing two options: 3600/CL16 versus 3200/CL16. Which one offers better value?

I have two Hynix-C pairs and a pair of B-die in the trash bin.

Using both kits simultaneously with an XMP profile and switching to 36x causes the motherboard to run at 3600 MHz with frequencies 18, 21, 21, and 42 MHz.
