I understand this might not be the best path, but I'm attempting to boost performance in AC Origins. I already suspect the CPU is limiting things because it's maxed out in busy areas; it runs an i5-3570k and pairs with a GTX 970, which isn't extremely demanding now. Overclocking to 4.2GHz seems standard, but I still face frame drops to around 35 fps in crowded scenes. With a 1600p display, lowering resolution would help less if the CPU is the main issue. No population density adjustment exists, so I'm looking for other tweaks.
