I recently switched from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and faced a bothersome problem: 3D programs only run at 60 FPS when mirrored to my 4K TV. How does Windows 10 treat displays differently than Windows 7? Is there a way to let my monitor operate at an unrestricted frame rate? I suspect the issue stems from a framerate limit, but I’m not familiar with the exact settings to bypass it. There must be a specific Windows 10 configuration that resolves this. I’ve turned off frame caps and Vsync in both Nvidia control panel and inspector, and when all displays are set to "extend desktop" or disabled, the cap disappears. However, mirroring breaks that, restoring the 60 FPS limit. My monitors keep their normal refresh rates in Windows settings. If I stop mirroring, the monitor setup changes—my main display is 144Hz, two others at 60Hz, and a 4K TV at 60Hz. My hardware includes a GTX 1070, i7 4790K, 4.0 GHz, 32 GB RAM, and four displays. If you have any additional details, I’d appreciate suggestions!
