Above 162 causes instability (similar to the first heaven benchmark failing, but after stress tests in the combustor and a return to heaven for a second attempt the GPU crashes).

Sure, keep those increments increasing at stock. Do you have a GPU-Z tool? If not, get one. Adjust the sensor readings to 0.1 second intervals and monitor for any underclocking. I suggest downloading 3DMark Basic Edition and performing the Firestrike test as well, which is another solid GPU evaluation. What settings are you using on Heaven?

Thanks will be attempted as well. Currently I have +250 mem, my highest score in heaven was 1505 at +125 and +150 mem, but with +250mem or even 225 or 200 it drops to 1503. I've been using GPU-Z from the beginning. It appears Firestrike requires payment, but I tried 3dmark11 basic and achieved a score of 12776 (+162core, +250mem). At normal speeds the score is 12624.

What configurations are you using in Heaven? Those numbers are unusual, you should be scoring higher than me! I follow these settings, experiment with others besides Screen Resolution, and adjust your own resolution to see the impact. I’ve also downloaded the basic version of 3DMark and tried Firestrike, which is what I’m using as well. I haven’t paid for it yet.

I completed the Heaven and Firestrike tests at 160 Core/330 Memory (1476mhzwBoost/3829*2=7658mhz) with stock voltage. I’m quite satisfied with the outcomes, though the real challenge will come during extended gaming sessions. I’ve played 40 minutes of Witcher 3 before, nothing went wrong. MSI’s cards are excellent, with solid default clock speeds and good potential for overclocking.

Tried again using 3dmark11 at +300mem, got a score of 12943. I noticed red flashes/flickering in both +300 mem and +250mem settings. I plan to try +150mem to check if the flashes disappear. We use the same heaven settings, but my resolution is set to "System" and tessellation is disabled. My monitor is 1920x1080. It might be the CPU affecting the heaven points—I have a 5820k @3.4GHz.

What's your setup for desktop or gaming? And are the red flashes happening? I'm wondering if your GPU drivers are up to date and if you're using more than one monitor. It might help to lower the memory usage for now. If you'd like, share your system details—including monitor info.

I'm currently using an i7-5820k at 3.4GHz with an Asrock X99 WS motherboard. I'm still experiencing red flashes at 150, especially when entering the Hidden Temple.

What are your system specifications, including the monitor? What is your highest temperature and fan speed on the GPU?

Asrock X99 WS paired with i7-5820k and G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 32GB, running HP 22fi IPS 1080p monitor on Windows 7 x64 Pro. Currently testing with 150 cores.

You want the GPU temperature and fan speed while under load, plus a check on driver updates. Also, your current location matters. That’s helpful, considering the environment.
