Hi everyone, I'm working on my ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4 MB and trying to maximize performance with a Ryzen 3600. I've read that overclocking isn't really necessary, but I found some BIOS options that might help the Ryzen 3600 run better. In my settings I have "Set Cool-n-Quiet" turned on, "Core CPPC" enabled, "CPPC Preferred Cores" selected, "Advanced C-States" activated, and "Global C-State" enabled. In my BIOS I only see the global C-state option, which I've turned on, but I'm missing other adjustments. I'm curious if "echo mode" is similar to "Cool-n-Quite." Since I'm using the original cooler, I won't change PBO settings. Are these the only options for my board? Does the rest of this configuration apply specifically to the B450 model? I have the newest BIOS and chipset installed, any advice would be appreciated. I've attached some pictures if needed. Thanks a lot! Also, is the Ryzen balanced plan still better than the Windows balanced plan?

Based on the options you provided, it seems the guide is tailored for an Asus motherboard, which often includes a "Cool and Quiet" setting in the BIOS. There’s no equivalent labeling from other brands. C-States should be active by default, so you likely won’t need to adjust them. It’s best to stick with PBO and avoid modifying any other parameters.

Based on the options you provided, it seems the guide is tailored for an Asus motherboard, which often includes a "Cool and Quiet" setting in the BIOS. There’s no equivalent labeling from other brands. C-States should be active by default, so you likely won’t need to adjust them. It’s best to stick with PBO and avoid modifying any other parameters.

Thank you for your reply. My PBO was set to auto mode, so I’ll keep it that way (perhaps I’ll switch it off after installing Hyper 212 cooler). I’ve turned on global C-states, likely from the auto option, and I might go back to it later to run Cinabench just to verify. [Updated] It looks like the global C-state is still in auto mode. It seems it went back during testing of other configurations...

AMD developer tuning instructions for EPYC are mainly relevant for desktop components and have limited influence on other parts. https://developer.amd.com/resources/epyc...ng-guides/ ECO mode reduces DTP and frequency settings (60W for 3600). It’s not meant to be taken as a starting point for performance gains; CRT tuning offers better results for modest improvements and undervolting, while also being safer than PBO in BIOS or Windows.
