I'm trying to figure out why my system keeps stuck at 1.2V despite resetting the CMOS. The motherboard voltage was initially set higher, and now it's stuck at a lower level. I've only managed to adjust it between 1.35V and 1.23V, but nothing else works. Could anyone clarify what's happening?

No, this doesn't seem to be relevant. Are you checking if you're up to date with the latest BIOS?

You're using an Asus board with the Z170 chipset and a 7700K processor. The HWiNFO64 tool should work with your motherboard. You asked about the program for measuring CPU voltage—this one supports your Asus board. In the BIOS, you adjusted settings to modify the voltage; you likely didn't need to reset the CMOS. Your approach could involve a negative offset or a fixed voltage setting.

I was running adaptive mode with AI Suite 3 for convenience. I also used CPU-Z and HWiNFO64. I followed your instructions, but it seems my settings might have changed—maybe I need to run some tests.

Adjusted steps to offset -0.155 caused freezing. Returned to -0.145 and it functioned now. Current Vcore is 1.2V. I believe adaptive control is better since the offset remains consistent across the full voltage range. -0.155 behaves differently at 1.35V compared to 0.6V.

It seems like you're experiencing a problem with an AI Suite. Try removing it, and the BIOS settings should reset automatically on each startup.

I adjusted the steps down to -0.145 and it resolved the issue. Previously, -0.155 caused a freeze. The Vcore is set at 1.2V, and I believe adaptive control is preferable since the offset remains consistent across the full voltage range. -0.155 affects 1.35V differently compared to 0.6V.

I grasp the adjustment well. The Vcore setting shifted to 1.10V during testing, and it remains steady now. That makes sense.

1.15v works well with the stock clock using that chip. I apply a fixed voltage and adjust it wherever needed; it consistently delivers the expected result.
