Adjust uGridsToLoad settings and ENB Shimmer in Skyrim
Skyrim Issues I notice while walking around that Lots of trees and rocks pop in out of nowhere, I have multiple mods that aim to fix this but they only go so far, I heard that this can be further fixed by changing Ugridstoload in the ini, how would I go about doing this safely and properly, I have the latest version of SKSE and Skyrim with 100+ Mods I also notice alot of Shimmer on Fences and other things while running Project ENB, It isn't too bad but can sometimes be an issue so if you know a fix then let me know Here is what the AA Settings look like in my ini [ANTIALIASING] EnableEdgeAA=true EnableTemporalAA=false EnableSubPixelAA=true EnableTransparencyAA=false When I go into ENB Settings, it says edge AA Is running Thanks
My grasp of the issues with ugrids is limited. Raising ugrids while trying to resolve texture pop in Skyrim lowers stability and may lead to gameplay difficulties, especially at higher settings. While ugrids 7 seems manageable without major problems, boosting them further risks making saves unplayable over time due to decreasing stability. A few mods try to improve this, like StableUGridsToLoad, but they offer only partial relief. I’d generally advise against increasing ugrids unless you won’t rely on your current save for long sessions—like 30 to 50 hours or more. Stability problems tend to appear sooner with higher ugrids and more mods active. For screenarchers, using this mod can fix the shimmering effect on fences, which often causes issues with anti-aliasing. It took some time to adapt to the new fence designs, but they now look much improved.
You can modify ugrids in your skyrim.ini file. The link provided explains ugrids versions 7, 9, and 11.
Some adjustments can enhance the low-resolution details of the far areas and might help reduce the sudden jump effect when objects load. The loading itself remains unavoidable, aside from tweaking grid settings. Even with Ugrids 7 or 9, you'll still experience some loading issues, so it's clear this isn't a fully effective fix. A permanent, stable resolution is unlikely because of the engine's constraints. You can still eliminate pop-in on waterfalls and windmills by using Skyfalls and Skymills, keeping them animated rather than static. This is especially noticeable near the Waterfalls close to Whiterun, where distant ones stay fixed while nearby ones move. You can find more details at the provided link.
