Hi Community, I own a three-monitor configuration (all using displayport) that has been reliable for many years. Recently, I added a fourth screen—a TV (LG CX)—connected via HDMI over fiber. The setup functions smoothly when the TV is on, but with the OLED display I’m concerned about consistent performance. When the TV is off, the screens flicker and shift positions repeatedly, as if the system is constantly detecting and ignoring a new display. Reversing the TV’s state resolves the issue temporarily. This is somewhat bothersome, so I’m curious if anyone knows a solution. I was considering forcing the original monitors to stay in place or adjusting their position. Best, Marcowich — P.S. My system is quite high-end, so I suspect a software-related problem. Edit: I’m using Windows 11.

The issue arises because Windows favors HDMI, so it will search for the first HDMI connection it finds. A possible fix is to install third-party software and create two profiles—one for all devices, another for just three. Switch between profiles before turning the TV on or off.
