I received The Shadow of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition for free from Epic Games. At first, everything worked smoothly, but after facing off against two jaguars, the game began to lag and freeze. Whenever I adjusted the right joystick on my Xbox controller to scan the area, it would stutter and pause briefly. During headshots, the cursor would move too high unless I paused aiming and restarted. It’s worth mentioning that I didn’t tweak any settings once I began playing. For comparison, God of War and Spider-Man 2018 performed flawlessly, which I confirmed after trying this title. My system specs include an i7-11700K processor, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3070 graphics, and my games are installed on a Samsung 970 EVO SSD connected via a separate M.2 slot. The monitor is an AOC model with 1920x1080 resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate on the NVidia display controller.
