Before starting, make sure Triple Buffering is enabled. This technique isn't widely used, but a friend of mine implemented it successfully, and another forum member did too. You should open the registry by typing "regedit" in the Start menu, navigate to the right path, and turn off Large PageFiles. Enable the specific executable for your version: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\YOUREXENAMEHERE.exe] set to use large pages, and disable it with "UseLargePages"=0. For the FarCry4 version, locate its shortcut and add -disablepagefilecheck. This worked for AC Unity when frame drops occurred. Hope this improves your gaming experience!

You missed the Triple Buffering feature... FTR Fellow Posters – I used to be that forum member, and it really helps. It restores a lot of the Image Quality you lose. The driving feels a bit choppy initially, but fixing the Mips settings again fixes it. I’ll give it a try—turning it off in Unity (I wasn’t aware of that except for Watchdogs/FC4).

I was genuinely taken aback realizing how essential triple buffering is, but I’ll include that note.

Others might refuse to use it since they believe it introduces delays.

I had that also, hehe [The Windows NT execution settings in HKLM were the missing piece. If you don’t like it, just ignore it and keep complaining here. It won’t help, but it’s working for me and now my brother’s system too.]

Yes, it seems like you're wondering if this message is meant for you specifically.

I didn't aim to hurt anyone, but I left it here in case it fails for others. Just try it out and see what happens.

I noticed an error too. I assumed the executable key was present, but it didn’t work. I tried adjusting it, but nothing changed.

I discovered this information today directly from the person asking, though I hope it helps everyone. (Does 2/4/8x MSAA appear distorted with shimmer everywhere, looks terrible on my rig, so I’m using SMAA instead?) Playing FC4 at 1080p with default settings (no tweaks) – running at max speed without MSAA, but with SMAA enabled. I like this setup because MSAA still makes the visuals look poor, honestly. This is the only game where MSAA actually degrades quality (like the shimmering trees), and it’s affecting my FPS and frame rates on my R9-290 Stock at 1040/1250MHz.
