You're trying to manage two local accounts—your personal PC account and a family gaming account—while keeping your desktop icons separate. The issue seems to be that changing settings for one doesn't affect the other. To hide icons on the second account, you'll need to adjust its permissions directly, possibly using file system tools or third-party software. Blocking access in Security won't resolve the visibility problem since the icons still appear. Consider checking folder permissions or using a dedicated app to manage desktop shortcuts separately.

When security blocks access, it means they can’t be used regardless of visibility. If they’re blocked, their ability to function is the only factor.

Just keep the game icons visible. Avoid clutter by limiting the number of shortcuts to just the ones your parents use.

Thanks for your response. I'm trying to fully grasp the situation and understand your perspective better. After searching online, I found a method that involves concealing some icons rather than hiding everything. This might clarify things. Clicking the options should help.

This doesn't match what I'm aiming for. For instance, it displays a Solidworks shortcut on the desktop. I need that shortcut to disappear from the gaming profile (when using that account) while keeping it visible on my regular profile. Currently, hiding or removing it from the gaming account requires admin access and also deletes it from my main account's desktop, which I don't want.
