Adjust RAM frequency settings to 21.33MHz if needed.
Hello everyone, I’m facing a challenge here. Right now my PC uses four RAM sticks split into two groups. The first set is two 8GB DDR4 modules at 3000MHz, while the second set includes two 8GB DDR4 modules that run at 3200MHz but are compatible with lower speeds, including 3000MHz. Despite adjusting everything in the BIOS—trying XMP profiles, manual frequency and voltage settings—I still can’t get them to exceed the default 2133MHz. Even after restarting or changing configurations, the system reverts back to the default RAM settings. CPU-Z confirms that even with configuration changes, the memory stays at 1064MHz. I’ve also tested using each pair separately without success. My motherboard is running the latest BIOS, and I have the newest AMD drivers installed. I performed a CMOS reset but saw no improvement. I’m left with two possibilities: my motherboard might be faulty, or there’s an AMD compatibility issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My specs are: motherboard Gigabyte B450M DS3H, CPU ADM Ryzen 5 3400G, GPU ASUS GTX 1650 Super Phoenix OC, RAM 32GB (2x8 at 3000MHz), PSU Coolermaster 500W.
It might be other problems similar to what you said, but remember XMP settings are just suggestions, not guaranteed. They usually function well, though occasionally they may fail. Consider adjusting them manually with varied frequency, voltage, and timing. There are many overclocking guides online if you need more help.
