Hey everyone. I've been thinking about this a bit. With devices like the OnePlus one, G3, and newer phones that have 4K screens and good microphones, there seems to be a need for software that can manage microphone gain or input volume. This would help avoid clipping in loud settings like live music venues. While apps like Cinema FV-5 let you see audio levels visually and with headphones, they don’t let you adjust the input directly within the app. I’d really want a tool to set the input level to something safe, like -12dB in a noisy environment, so I can capture clear audio without distortion.

Android includes a built-in feature named AutomaticGainControl (AGC). It automatically adjusts volume even if you manually change it. Some apps override this setting. If you locate a video app that doesn’t rely on AGC, you’ll have more control over gain during recordings. I’ve discovered a few audio recorders that let you disable AGC within the app and fine-tune volume for your clips, but finding one for video remains elusive. I’ll continue searching and will share updates soon.
