Hello, I recently shared an update about this concern, but it’s still ongoing. The main issue is that my frame rate drops significantly—from around 60 to about 20—when using v-sync in games like WoW and Elden Ring while browsing on Chrome on a second monitor. This happens not just with videos on YouTube or Twitch, but also when I hover over links and then stop interacting. The lag only appears when both the browser and game are in fullscreen; it disappears if the screen size is adjusted. I’ve tried changing monitors, cables, and even disabled hardware acceleration in Chrome and Discord, along with matching refresh rates. My drivers are current, but I’m unsure what to do next. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I’m sure WOW includes a cap on frame rate when switching windows, and I’m guessing Elden Ring does as well. Just set the limit to 60.

You've already disabled the frame limiters and attempted adjustments without success.

I checked the information online and discovered a way to turn it off, but the problem continues.

Hello! I just wanted to share an update for anyone experiencing this problem. After some research, I discovered a suggestion on another site that the Xbox Game Bar might be causing stuttering or frame drops. I removed it using the Windows terminal with the command: get-appxpackage *Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay* | remove-appxpackage. This seems to have resolved all my frame drops.

Thanks for the tip! It seems the Xbox game bar was the problem leading to my frame drops. I have no idea what caused it.
