Looking for opinions from other forum members about GTA5 and SLi scaling. I recently installed two 1080ti graphics cards running at double SLi settings. Despite this, GPU usage stays around 60-65%. Turning off SLi brings usage down to about 92-98%. Can anyone else discuss SLi scaling for GTA5? I’m trying to figure out if the issue is with the game, my hardware, or a CPU limitation (I have an i7-4960x).

Check if the 4960x is overclocked; it might be limiting performance. GTA V should handle the load well.

It has been boosted to 4.6Ghz and consistently stays below 90% CPU utilization.

Verify each CPU core separately. If one core operates at approximately 99-100% utilization, it may indicate a CPU bottleneck.

Maximum recorded on a single core is 87%. Others are near or under 50%.

Attempt to reinstall drivers using DDU, as identical outcomes suggest a CPU issue. Performance seems odd, which doesn't match GTA V behavior.

It seems you're considering the DDU and have heard about it. EDIT: I mentioned something to @samcool55. Benchmark tests often show cards exceeding 2,100 easily. Just a heads-up.

I’d check some benchmarks on sli scaling in GTA 5 to see how it performs. If it’s poor, the issue might be with the game itself. Otherwise, it could point to something else. Keep in mind there’s a frame limit in the engine for GTA 5, so hitting it could also be a factor.

It was only recently uncovered in some of the R5 reviews. Checking the Gamers Nexus video on GTA 5 benchmarks gives a clear explanation.
