I struggle to recall setting the CPU configuration in UEFI for low power modes or specific tasks like web browsing, YouTube, etc., while managing power limits for gaming or demanding apps. On my machine, an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X running on an ASUS B550 ROG wifi II, I suspect adjustments in the offset values within UEFI might be involved. After a recent X370 MB incident, I'm cautious about making changes. In Windows, I set the minimum power to 10% and maximum to 100%, but it didn't work as expected—changes seem to depend on the current task. Currently, at 1-5% usage, the CPU maintains speeds around 3.8 GHz. Any suggestions?

Ryzen uses a strategy to save power that keeps it looking faster than the standard speed even when not running. Adjusting settings manually on AM4 chips usually stops downclocking, so focus on enabling C-states and setting turbo properly.
