Experiences with audio and video issues on Skype or Zoom.
Current setup uses a laptop with solid connection speeds; previously, weaker signals caused noticeable lag and distortion.
Public speaking engagements are common, and remote work has been stable with Zoom and Skype.
Recently upgraded to a new workstation with better hardware, but still encounter intermittent distortion during calls.
Testing on another machine reveals the problem only appears with external connections.
Experimented with OBS Studio and Wavelink, but results remain inconsistent.
Need a way to test without relying on another computer for the connection.
Suspect the issue stems from audio routing or compatibility problems during remote sessions.

Verify if there are newer drivers available for the system; you might need to visit Intel directly to obtain the latest CPU video chip drivers instead of the PC manufacturer.

Hello! Thank you for your message. Because the issue only appears during actual calls, it doesn’t happen unless I’m on a call. I’ve made several updates to the drivers for Wave 3 and Windows 10. Right now, I’m not using the iGPU in the processor. My ASUS RTX 3060 OC also has updated drivers installed. I haven’t been using NVENC or the AI noise reduction feature.

So far, I haven’t noticed any performance improvements when using Wave 3 directly in Zoom or Skype compared to the Wave Link app. I’ve also experimented with using OBS Studio through a virtual camera output, but nothing seems to resolve the issue.

Currently, I’m dealing with two different problems—one in California and another in Texas. Sometimes the computer becomes unavailable, which makes things difficult.

My next step is to set up another Skype account and see if the problem persists. Usually, it happens within the first ten minutes of a call. I don’t have precise timing because it occurs during real conversations, and I need to focus on the meeting instead of collecting data.

I’m working with Elgato and my ISP. The issue doesn’t appear when using the webcam microphone, Logitech BRIO, or other network connections. They’ve suggested upgrading my router and switching to a higher-speed plan, but I’m only using one device at a time with Ethernet connections.

It might be that the faster 11900k chip and my motherboard are more affected by the slower system. This was common when older parts were unavailable, and a replacement was offered. The new gear usually works faster but can introduce new complications. I’m open to getting a new router, but I want to fully understand the problem before investing.

One reason I’d like a new router is that my motherboard supports 2.5Gig LAN connections, while the router only supports 1 gigabit.

I really appreciate the microphone and enjoy its clear sound without distortion. My friends now joke that I have “Radio Voice.”
