Addressing and resolving frame rate stutters in Grand Theft Auto Online.
To my knowledge, this particular problem hasn't been encountered before, leading me to classify it as a "Potentially Isolated Incident." While operating within urban environments, my frame rates decrease from approximately 59-60 fps to 48-55 fps. The possibility of its singularity stems from the significant limitation imposed by my processor on my graphics card. Specifically, reducing or increasing graphical settings results in a corresponding drop or increase in frames. This complicates troubleshooting due to uncertainty regarding adjustable parameters and optimal ranges. Below are my system specifications. Your assistance would be invaluable.
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i7 2600k @ 3.40GHz
RAM: 14.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 668MHz
MONITOR: 1920x1080@60Hz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti (Manually Overclocked to 120%)
Discard the shortest stick, retaining the remaining two within the memory slots specified by your motherboard for dual-channel operation; observe the results. Three sticks will operate in single-channel mode unless your board possesses a flexible configuration, though such a feature would likely resolve your current problem.
It’s not a limitation. Your processor’s speed is being hindered by:
-are temperatures acceptable?
-how much RAM do you have installed? 14GBs isn't typical, and I believe your CPU is operating in single channel instead of dual
-several programs are running simultaneously, consuming resources
Reducing graphics settings or resolution increases the processor’s workload, and considering yours is already performing below its potential due to one or more of these factors…
The temperature appears acceptable—approximately 55 degrees Celsius during boosting. Elsewhere, a user recommended replacing the existing 4 and 2 GB of RAM with an additional 8 GB. Despite numerous running programs that rarely consume more than 3 MB each, including my Anti-malware Service Executable at 127.7 MB, I frequently utilize Firefox for online communication while gaming (as Discord is unsatisfactory), along with the Malwarebytes Tray Application. This combination generally accounts for about 6% of CPU usage and 23% of memory.
Eliminate the shortest stick, maintaining the remaining two within the slots specified by your motherboard for dual-channel operation, and observe the result. Three sticks will function in single-channel mode unless your board possesses a flexible configuration; however, if it did, you likely wouldn't be experiencing this problem.
Thank you so much for your assistance. I will give it a shot. Have a wonderful day.
