I have an GTX 1070 and a Ryzen 5 1600 with 8GB DDR4. I’m experiencing stuttering on Ultra and High even on lower settings, and it happens periodically. My average frame rate is around 45-60, followed by freezes and then recovery. I’ve disabled VSync. It doesn’t seem to be my RAM issue since 8GB is recommended for Ultra. I’m not sure what to do next.
Choose performance settings in the Nvidia control panel and launch the game using default GPU speeds without overclocking. Test in-game by reducing ambient occlusion to SSAO or disabling it altogether. The game appears poorly optimized, causing similar problems for many users. Keep an eye on upcoming updates. Consider lowering settings to the lowest level and turning Vsync on. With sufficient GPU power to maintain 60fps, you can determine if stuttering persists—if it does, the issue likely lies with the game itself.
Is your system running out of memory? The last time you played NFS was really demanding on RAM.
It's not just you—it happens on other PCs too. Especially during the prologue, I experienced a one-second freeze during the race. The setup was similar: Ryzen 1600X @3.8, 16GB 3000MHz RAM, GTX1080. The game seems poorly optimized, and I’m hoping they release a fix with a patch.
I find it hard to put into words just how terrible this game is. The performance problems are completely out of the ordinary. It doesn’t even stress my computer or slow down when it lags. I experienced similar issues right away, and many others have shared their experiences too. You really need to play it yourself to understand how bad it is.
Also, for some reason, I'm struggling to complete the first mission with the Aston Martin. Using the Xbox controller feels quite sluggish. The car always seems to accelerate extremely slowly. I've tried both automatic and manual modes, but it doesn't feel right. I left the difficulty setting at medium, yet I can't find a way to increase it. It's really confusing!
Poorly optimized, AngryJoe is now using 1080s, and it’s running really poorly.
