I possess an outdated HP DV7-1247cl with a damaged memory module, so I replaced it with a 1285DX model. It should work with the Intel platform and a 9600GT processor. I'm using retro gaming software and have a T9600 CPU. My current RAM is 4GB DDR2, and I'm aiming for an upgrade to 8GB. The new motherboard includes two additional MPCI slots in the lower section—one labeled with a TV icon, indicating it's likely a tuner card port, and another whose purpose isn't clear from my research. Could these extra ports serve other functions such as connecting an MPCI adapter for USB storage, a swap file, or a backup drive for Windows restore images? Or are they intended solely for expanding internal storage capacity?
