Additional lifespan for Clevo X7200/Sager7280 when using GTX 480m OC
Hey guys,
I'm working with an old notebook and trying to make it last longer. I'm still short on money for my next gaming notebook, so I'm doing my best to keep this one in good shape. I already have a brand new SSD, which has definitely helped, and I'm thinking about getting a 16GB RAM card to reach 20GB total. I was wondering if it's a good idea to overclock my GPU now, since I've never done it before—please be gentle with me. Would you recommend it? Do you think I'd see noticeable improvements? I searched online but haven't found benchmarks for the 480M, only the desktop version. Some people managed to bring it up to a 570, which is a solid gain, so maybe it could work for me too. Should I proceed and if so, how should I do it safely?
I've heard about laptops generally, but this one stands out. It's designed to run up to 3 HD's, 2 GPU's, and even has a desktop CPU, making it more capable than typical. That's why I considered an overclocking option. I wondered if adjusting the GPU temperatures could help.
