Customer exceeds SharePoint budget by 350GB. Storage extension options are unclear and difficult to access. Purchased 1GB from M365 but unsure about adding it. Rely on Microsoft reseller pax8; the "get more storage" link leads to confusing material. Need guidance or support.

Buying extra SharePoint space from Microsoft is quite costly, costing $0.20 per GB per month. For 350GB, that adds about $70 monthly on the M365 bill. If immediate access is essential, follow these actions: Navigate to the M365 Admin Center, select Billing, then Purchase Services. In the "View by Category" section, click Add-Ons, scroll to the bottom, and choose "Office 365 Extra File Storage." Connect your subscription, purchase the required licenses (at least 350), and consider using third-party solutions to expand storage. Alternatively, we set up a Synology NAS and drives to store our archived data, reducing our SharePoint usage by roughly half. Synology devices with DSM 7.0+ support Active Backup for M365, enabling full backup of SharePoint, OneDrive, and emails.

I believe we have between 35 and 40 users. I bought the M365 extra storage on our reseller site, which appears in the admin panel. On the reseller site it mentions a parent account, but it doesn't function properly when I select options. It seems unrelated to a used account, and since we don’t have a SharePoint subscription, it’s likely just part of the domain. The connection with my subscription is unclear. As the billing and purchase service is handled by the reseller, I think the plan is to pay $70 now and then handle removal or archiving later.
