I just switched to Windows 10 and noticed many enhancements in Microsoft Edge. After trying it briefly, intrusive ads kept appearing everywhere. I’m curious if Edge offers a feature to block ads like what you’re seeing. Anyone knows about that?

Microsoft may introduce updates soon to address these issues. The concern stems from security weaknesses in existing extensions, and it appears Edge runs as a 64-bit application. Someone might have some clarification on this.

microsoft would favor working with ad networks over blocking them... observe the trend of random installs for bing bars/curtana, and my advice is to use chrome or firefox.

The original query mentions an outdated topic with a current update, emphasizing that the solution remains relevant. The answer highlights the persistence of the information despite changes over time.

Systemwide AdBlock is required via the HOSTS file. The limitation is that favorite sites can't be added to the whitelist.
