Adapter for RGB 12V fan plug into RGB header
Adapter for RGB 12V fan plug into RGB header
I recently purchased a new PC and completed the assembly. Once done, I received my USB stick pre-configured for Windows 11, connected it, and booted up. Everything seems to be working fine so far. The lights turn on, remain active briefly, then trigger a BIOS reset before the system displays the Windows installation screen. On the first launch, the fans spin and then stop. From the second attempt, the fans fail to activate at all (no RGB effect, no rotation). I discovered that I connected the connector meant for the fan header into the RGB 12V header on the GIGABYTE Z690 UD AX board. I’m unsure if the fan hub is malfunctioning or if the fans are dead. Do you have any advice on testing this or should I consider replacing the fans and hub? Additionally, can I run the OS without case fans until they arrive? (I have an i7-12700K with 1x 120mm and 1x 140mm fan combo, plus a 3080 with triple fan design.)
It might be a 120mm exhaust from your cooler, though it could overheat. The type of case you're using is probably the one with the 120mm port.
Aqirys Arcturus included four 120mm RGB fans. Stress testing with an open case showed the CPU reaching 92°C and the GPU at 73°C.
