I'm adjusting my old Cybertron system with a 450W PSU that has a 4-pin CPU port. My new motherboard supports an 8-pin connector. For the Asus Prime B360m-A, using an Intel i5 9400F should work fine.

It's good to hear. Your chip shouldn't exceed 155 watts in power usage.

You can connect the 4-pin EPS into the 8-pin EPS. The 4-pin EPS handles 150W, which exceeds the power needs of the 9400F. However, honestly, if your PSU only has a 4-pin EPS port, I question its overall reliability. You didn’t mention the graphics card you’ll be using, so I’d advise being cautious about what you expect from that power supply.

No adapter required; the 4-pin fits directly onto one side of the 8-pin.

Consider a high-performance power supply to match the demanding GPU. A 450W unit works well, but investing in a reliable PSU ensures optimal power delivery to your parts.
