What are your thoughts on ad-blocking applications? Do they function effectively? Could they lead to system issues or performance problems? I considered the AdBlocker Ultimate. Thanks in advance!

Yes, they function well. I use uBlock Origin and Ghostery and have been satisfied with their results. There are other options as mentioned before.
