It depends on the type of game you're looking for. Sonic Generations is suitable for kids and enjoyable. Games like Dirt 3 or Grid 2 might also fit well. Portal (2) is a solid choice, though it could be a bit tough for him. Battleblock Theater could also be interesting. The last two titles are available as cooperative experiences.

Stardew Valley, Journey, Sims, Sims City, Portal, Racing Games... These titles can challenge young minds. Nintendo console simulators often feel overwhelming for some players. Antichamber, Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons, The Stanley Parable all explore deep themes. Many find racing games particularly intense.
