Hey!
I recently set up my new PC and everything functioned perfectly after installing Windows 10 and updating the motherboard BIOS to the latest version. Still, when I tried to adjust my DRAM frequency to 3000MHZ with XMP profile #1, I encountered a boot error code on the motherboard and the system wouldn’t start.
Here are the details of my build:
- Asus Strix X99 (believed latest BIOS version)
- Intel i7 6850K (OC disabled, caused boot issues too)
- Corsair Vengeance LED 64GB (CMU32GX4M4C3000C15R) + dual CMU32GX4M4C3000C15
- Nvidia GTX970
- NZXT X62
- Samsung 960 PRO 512GB
- Samsung 850PRO 500GB
- Corsair AX860i
I attempted to overclock the CPU to 4.0 GHz using auto settings (multiplier set to 40), but that also led to a failed overclock boot.
Even after applying ASUS Ez tuning in the BIOS, the OC failed and Windows wouldn’t boot.
Anyone have suggestions on how to resolve this?
I just want a light overclock for my 6850K (4.0 GHz across all cores) and a 3000MHz memory speed.

I faced a similar problem with my RAM (though not as severe), experiencing random blue screens. Disabling the auto-xmp profile and adjusting settings resolved the issue on .me.

I encountered a similar problem with my RAM (though not as severe—I experienced random bluescreens). Disabling the auto-xmp profile and adjusting the settings manually resolved the issue for.me. Hey! Thank you for your prompt response. I hadn’t previously changed the RAM settings in the BIOS before. Is it that straightforward—setting the frequency to 3000 MHz and the latency timers to standard?
Basically.
I looked at the specs sheet of my ram and changed the values in BIOS accordingly.
Worked for me, no guarantee it'll work for you

Many Thanx!
I am going to try it now! You'll hear from me.

In short.
I checked the specifications of my RAM and adjusted the BIOS settings accordingly.
It helped for me, but no assurance it will work for you

With these changes I couldn't boot into Windows (15-17-17-35 at 1.35 volt)
I also attempted to set it to 2800Mhz instead of 3000 mhz with the same settings, but it didn’t work...
I tried again to change my 6850K to 4,0 Ghz using 1,2 volt and it functions stably now... so I just need to fix the DRAM frequency.
the red memory sticks created all the issues they aren't compatible with the x99 strix using xmp on... with the white versions i achieved a stable oc on my 6850K with 32gb at 3000mhz. sad story
