I have two Acer monitors—one XF243Y-P and the other XF243Y-M3—on my desk. My MacBook Pro 16in 2019 is connected via Thunderbolt, with one HDMI and one DP output. The M3 model tends to wake up unexpectedly while the Mac is sleeping. I've checked timing and intervals, but it keeps happening at random times. I don’t want any of them turning on during the night. For those interested: Monitor input shows 25W power draw, with less than 0.0W when idle. That info isn’t very useful, but I’d appreciate some guidance.

Are you leaving the mouse active? I've noticed this in Windows too, where the mouse detects a brief movement and sends it as input without moving the cursor. It might just be a tiny shift—about one pixel. Either way, it counts as input that can wake up the system enough to bring the monitor out of sleep. Two choices: 1. Physically turn off the mouse if it has a switch. 2. Check for a firmware update for your dock.

You left the screen on using the DP cable disconnected from the dock. Now it appears to function properly. Appreciate the assistance!

It seems the XF243Y-M3 is reactivating due to a DisplayPort connection verification. Some displays occasionally send periodic pings to the DP source even when idle. Consider these steps: Turn off Wake for network access in macOS energy saver and enable Power Nap—these may generate wake signals. Ensure your j5Create dock’s firmware is up-to-date, as docks can emit fake signals on DP. Test using HDMI instead of DP for this monitor, which tends to be more reliable when asleep. Review the Acer OSD menu for options like DP Hot Plug Detect or Deep Sleep; toggling them can often resolve intermittent awakenings. These adjustments are harmless and usually fix the issue without risk.
