You can use live ISO files for testing. With Ventoy, you can install several ISO images on one USB drive at once—super useful if your system fails and you need to reinstall through Ventoy so you don’t have to stay locked into one distribution. If you’re skilled with disk drivers and boot setups, you can retain your data while switching distributions. I picked this approach from Chris Titus Tech on YouTube. You can also install Linux directly on a USB drive and boot from it. For instance, if the device is damaged, you can swap in another USB and start fresh. Another option is a distro box, which works well too. Regarding virtual machines, QubeOS is recommended—it’s designed for security purposes.
