Hey there! I built my own gaming setup with the Asus Tuf B450 Plus, Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB RAM, and an RTX 2060 inside the CM K501L case. I overclocked my CPU from 3.6 to 3.95 GHz using the OC Tuner in the BIOS, and noticed a performance increase. However, temperatures rose significantly—sometimes reaching around 85°C during benchmarks like Cinebench R20. Any tips on managing heat better?

The auto overclock probably pushed the voltage too high. Reduce it gradually (around 0.025) and test stability using tools like prime95 and ASUS RealBench for several hours. A negative voltage offset can help the motherboard adjust dynamically to a lower level, reducing heat while maintaining performance. Lowering the voltage also means less heat generation, so you might benefit from a more affordable cooler. A budget cooler could provide significant improvement over the included Stealth model, potentially delivering much better cooling for about $30.

Disable OC, turn on PBO, apply a -50 to -75mV negative Vcore offset and stop there. 85°C with stock cooler feels normal, but note that Wraith Stealth is questionable. Short summary: OC off, negative offset.

I considered adding two more fans to my setup because I’m using just one exhaust fan and one RGB fan that came with the case. It might make a difference. Also, note that the default voltage from the box was 1.42V, while the OC Tuner adjusted it to 1.35V.

Sure! Based on your setup, adding two more case fans could improve airflow and cooling performance. It depends on the current fan placement and room conditions.

Auto overclocking is often unreliable. Raising the voltage significantly increases temperatures. It's better to try doing it yourself.

Turn off the OC tuner. The default frequency reaches 3.9GHz stock and 4.2GHz single, not worth tuning to 3.95GHz.
