Wasn't certain which category this belongs to—PC, console, or mobile. I favored PC for its versatility. While the design isn’t universally appealing, my Steam Deck works well in various settings like hotels, planes, or at home, so I’m avoiding the idea of it being a gamer’s device. The performance looks solid, and the compact size is a plus. Considering it as a replacement seems reasonable. Just continue using your deck and hold out for the 2? Why would you need to swap it out already? What’s the problem with the deck? The Acer version will perform better, but in practice the gap isn’t huge—especially since this model is built for 1080p instead of the Steam Deck’s 800p. You can still run lower resolutions, though it looks less sharp because it isn’t optimized for native use. Plus, running Windows on a handheld just doesn’t feel great.
My rockstar energy drink burst and spilled on my Steam Deck. It still functions, though the buttons and touchpad are stuck. I’ve considered opening it up and cleaning it, but all the advice says the springs can easily go wrong and might need recalibration.
