Explain your preference clearly, but understand the challenge with WASD keys. You mentioned using your right hand for them, which is typical for most people. However, accessing those keys can still be tricky for some users.

You might want to reconfigure key settings beyond the game itself. Check system options or perform a key remap? See this guide for details.

Numpad functionality should also apply.

After adjusting the preferences, configure the file to operate in read-only mode.

Sure, using WASD might shift your keyboard further to the right. It’s not necessarily the most comfortable setup.

I completely agree with everything you said. I'm on the left side and can relate though. I usually use the numpad but depend on arrow keys for my thumb, plus insert, home, pgup, pgdn, etc. Sometimes a game won't let me remap these keys and it's really annoying. Sorry for the frustration. Thanks for letting me know. If I ever get to play this, it might turn into a controller game for me.

The WASD keys functioned adequately, yet the typical adjacent controls turned quite inconvenient. Your thumb and index finger lost their effectiveness, leaving only the leftmost row of keys useful. Note: keyboard positioning may not always be optimal.

It seems the focus shifts to keyboard shortcuts, highlighting their absence beneath certain controls. The comparison suggests alternatives like IJKL could work similarly to WASD, particularly when using a left-number pad layout.

I fully agree. In the previous post you referenced, I noted that I personally use the numpad. A more effective alternative to WASD would be to mirror it with options like IJKL, keeping the space bar accessible via your thumb, among other things. For me, I simply prefer the numpad arrangement. I appreciate that the keys aren’t shifted and that arrow keys, insert, home, etc., are clearly grouped. I find this layout intuitive. (That’s why I avoid an IJKL style.) There are alternatives, but I also believe all keys should be remappable.
