I gave the device a fixed IP address. It works fine when accessed via name from another machine on the network (using \\NAME), but not through its IP address (\\192.168.5.49). The IP scanner doesn’t recognize it as available. I changed the IP to five different ones and still couldn’t get it listed. Network discovery is enabled, all features are active—even insecure guest logins are allowed under group policies. Any clue why it’s refusing to reveal its IP?

It seems the reverse DNS entries aren’t configured properly. In fact, the IP address should function, but I’ve noticed unusual behavior from a misconfigured DHCP or DNS setup before.

It was all done. I didn't think about DNS. I picked up something interesting today, thank you!
