I wasn't informed about an optimized version being available, that's a mistake. They mentioned unlocking it for 60 frames per second, but after that they won't fix any issues. Disappointing that developers keep pushing this further while players grow more conscious. One would expect a game creator to genuinely value their work and care about performance, especially when management pressures them to meet deadlines. It really hurts me that people who spend their lives building games don't seem to prioritize how they function. Gaming is a huge business with big profits, yet this kind of shortcut feels unacceptable. I’m planning to wait for the update on Steam sales around Christmas, and I won’t back developers who don’t put effort into delivering quality.

I completed the adjustments yesterday. The ratio performed well, though I'm uncertain if the game should run at 60 FPS since it feels too slow.

On my 780 it stabilizes at 60fps after the unlock command. Non-Steam versions can achieve 60fps or higher speeds using these commands (see link).

I actually feel the opposite. There was a time, kind of mid-Xbox 360/PS3 era, when yet another major AAA PC release with a 30 FPS would not even have been a newsworthy affair. A "bad port" over the last few years has begun to look more like Watch Dogs than the original Dark Souls, which really isn't such a bad situation in the grand scheme of things. We're discussing The Evil Within all over this site and the rest of the internet because its actually become pretty unusual that we are given a port this bad. Then there's this stuff with Ubisoft; approaching hysteria, in my opinion. Consoles have never had a 60 FPS standard, and they still have not even officially announced any 30 FPS-locked PC titles as far as I can tell. The deserve ridicule for their absurd statements but its hardly the doomsday event for PC gamers that its being framed as.
