I started the process as usual and then clicked on the download folder. It showed "Access is denied" and said the location isn’t available. When I opened the security tab, it asked me to read the permission file before viewing the object’s details. I’m really confused—I don’t know what I did wrong. Please help!

This resembles the behavior you'd observe when an SSD or HDD begins to malfunction.

I regret to let you know, but you no longer own the machine... Or at least not anymore.

Can you check the security section of any other folders on your system? Another useful test is setting up a bootable Linux USB drive. If your drive isn’t encrypted, you should be able to view all files using the file manager in your preferred Linux distribution (Ubuntu offers a helpful tutorial for making a "live USB"). You can then move the files elsewhere if necessary. Additionally, there are command-line techniques for adjusting folder permissions. If you’re interested in exploring this further, I recommend reviewing the discussion here: https://superuser.com/questions/1789769/...ms-windows

Have you attempted accessing the folder directly within your USER folder? Are you certain you possess admin privileges? Being able to modify your profile doesn't automatically grant admin rights. Trying to install software often triggers a warning screen each time, indicating something has changed. You'll need to identify what altered the system. Changes usually don't occur spontaneously.

Thanks for the update. I didn’t do anything unusual. I started my PC, opened Illustrator, played some games, and then turned it off. You can see from the health and security section that my SSD is at 99% health.
