And skip all the extra steps, just check what appears in 2.12.1 /etc/sddm.conf.d/10-wayland.conf. General settings include DisplayServer set to wayland, GreeterEnvironment as QT_WAYLAND_SHELL_INTEGRATION, CompositorCommand using kwin_wayland with specific options. To enable the virtual keyboard, append --inputmethod plasma-keyboard to CompositorCommand, though it seems to function best when touch input is recognized.

Thanks for the clarification. I'll keep this one for now and trust it will be resolved in two years with a stable version, not an experimental release.

Many terminal commands I use on macOS remain similar to those on Linux since both are Unix-based systems. Windows stands apart due to Microsoft's distinct command formatting.
