you're dealing with a few tricky setups here. the pi and server are currently stuck in your storage room, which limits direct network access. connecting them via ethernet could help, but you'll need to manage routing carefully. if you link the pi to the server through the router, traffic might still go through the router unless you configure proper port forwarding. the server could either route requests directly over ethernet or still pass them through the router depending on how it's set up. since you're using windows 10, understanding how network sharing works is key—especially if you want to avoid bottlenecks and keep things smooth. let me know if you want a step-by-step guide!

What if we try? A Wi-Fi extender could help improve coverage.

The storage area is located across from the apartment. There’s essentially no space for cables. I believe a Wi-Fi booster isn’t necessary—I think there’s too much activity on my current network, so cutting down on devices would help. That’s my idea.
