You're experiencing slow RAM previews on AMD FX 8350 with high-end components. There are a few options you can try: check BIOS settings, ensure proper power delivery, or consider using a different RAM module if available. If the issue persists, contact AMD support for further assistance.

What storage type are you using? Also, what resolution are you currently working on?

It looks like you're describing a mix of particle effects, 3D elements, and standard video clips. Let me know if you'd like help refining that description!

This could be due to several reasons, possibly explaining the slowness. Check out this Adobe guide on optimizing your setup.

I just played a bit of an ocean-themed game for switching maps, man!

RAM previews naturally lag because they must load numerous frames into your memory for smooth viewing. Processing 3 seconds of video at 24 frames per second means handling 72 frames of data. Each frame can be demanding, especially when applying After Effects' effects. This is typical, so it's not a big concern!
