A gaming router is designed to boost your internet speed for smoother online gaming. It works by managing data traffic and reducing lag. You don’t need a one-time payment—many offer flexible plans or contracts. For budget options, look for routers with solid speeds (like 6.51 Mbps download) and good latency under 30 ms. Check reviews and compare features to find the best fit for your needs. Thanks!

What is your internet connection? A weak link won't be resolved by upgrading your router.

Gaming routers are disingenuous at best and downright deceptive at worst. IMHO, they offer no better functionality or performance than a "regular" router of similar speed ratings. Of course, they have flashier designs and more RGB puke, but that's irrelevant to performance. But at the speeds you show, I would be seriously concerned if I weren't directly wired with ethernet. That's about fine for content streaming on 1 device--and nothing else. It's about what I'd expect from being on my wifi with my cell-phone at a fair distance away from the access point.

You're charged at the same rate with your ISP. The idea that gaming gear is the same as gaming furniture is just marketing hype. Don't fall for it.

It's a standard router named gaming. A gaming router performs the same tasks as any other router—it just carries the extra branding.
