I upgraded my PC and noticed the Network PCI card isn't functioning. I checked if a USB adapter could replace it, but it doesn't seem to work at all now. Since my computer only uses Ethernet these days, that was the original purpose of the card. Would this adapter perform similarly?

It will function, but it won’t be as quick as a PCI-e setup since it runs through the USB bus, which is slower.

Refers to a slower pace in terms of speed, mentions reaching up to 600mbs, while your internet cap is 150 TOPS at its peak performance.

It should function, I suggest going for a PCIe connection.

Maybe it's faster or more reliable.

Hey! Laughing at the product, not you. Looking at the brand and how fast it works for the price, I think speeds will hover around 20-60 Mbps max, possibly reaching up to 80 Mbps on 5GHz. Amazon reviews show similar results—some users get only 3-20 Mbps during big transfers. Be aware that USB 2.0 adapters can cap your performance since real speeds might not hit the 480 Mbps theoretical limit on USB 2.0, depending on your board and chipset.

For better results, consider using an adapter from a trusted brand like TP-Link instead.

It's really frustrating. We've got some terrible internet issues, especially in the living room—at least the modem isn't working well. We don't want to have to run cables all the way to the office.

Thanks for the info. Since you're Canadian, using Canadian Amazon is fine. Your old PCI adapter might not be showing up because it's not compatible or hasn't been updated. Also, make sure the antenna you have matches the one that came with the adapter. If it still doesn't appear in Device Manager, try checking the driver or contacting support.
