You're planning to upgrade your system with a Ryzen 5 5500, aiming for around $85 for the board and at least 32GB of RAM. You're considering an A520M motherboard and want to ensure it won't create bottlenecks with your components. Looking for options under $85 that support Ryzen 5000 chipsets. Your current setup includes an I5-4460S CPU, 16GB DDR3 RAM, a mid-tower case, and a GTX 1070 GPU.

It shouldn't cause any problems with your new DDR4 32GB and Ryzen 5 5500. However, this is the most basic series offering poor cooling, a weak chipset, and limited features. Switching to a stronger CPU later will be difficult, but for now it should work fine. You might want to consider used motherboards—some B450/60 models support Ryzen 5000, and B350/X370 models can run Ryzen 5000 with BIOS updates. I recently bought a used X370 board with the latest BIOS for $90. Checking the used market could be a good idea. (If you're okay with BIOS updates, that's fine)
