I'm setting up my third system and feeling a bit anxious because I'm not seeing any fan spin on my graphics card or chassis fans when I power it up. I suspect I might have misconfigured the case headers, so I tried using a screwdriver to jump it in, but it didn't work. When I connected my phone via USB, it was charging, which suggests it's either powered on or receiving energy. I've tested it both inside and outside the case. Could the absence of a CPU be affecting this behavior? It's possible the system uses sensors to manage fan operation based on needs, or maybe it simply doesn't activate without a CPU running.

It seems the board doesn’t have a CPU at all? The MoBo likely wouldn’t run without it either. I remember from my builds that missing the 6-pin CPU power connection means no power at all, even if the PSU is connected and working. Power should reach the USB ports, but without the CPU and RAM, the system won’t boot or function properly, so the fans and PCI slots won’t activate.

You're right, a CPU is essential for fans and other components to function properly.

I hope it works, I’ll attempt using my dad’s A8 CPU, though he might not be thrilled about me shutting down his computer to test mine.

He’s already faced consequences for choosing an Ass8 CPU, and there’s nothing wrong with removing it.

Haha, it works well for office tasks with a Ryzen 5 1400 and an RX 570.
