The issue lies in the fact that the 5500GT is a newer CPU, while the A320M-A Pro MAX might have an older BIOS than what the CPU requirements suggest. Do you have another CPU on hand if it won’t boot and needs a flash update? It should work, particularly with good airflow.

I checked the site and saw the link you mentioned. I'm concerned about whether the VRMs can support a 5000 series Ryzen with built-in graphics, or if it might be too demanding.

I also have a Ryzen 2600 on hand, which means it's great I can assemble his PC using this motherboard instead of spending around $75 on a B550M-HDV. Thanks!

You might need to refresh the BIOS. It should function properly. The processor uses around 50-60 watts. The CPU management is done by the three-phase VRM on the left side (with one high-side and two low-side MOSFETs per phase), while the chipset and integrated graphics are controlled by the two-phase VRM at the top (two high-side and two low-side MOSFETs per phase).
