I checked if I could run the Ryzen 5 3600 on ASUS A320M-A without a new CPU. There’s no way to make it work without an upgrade.

The BIOS won't boot properly when using a USB flash drive. The VRM components on the motherboard will overheat, causing the CPU to throttle further. This could result in your 3600 processor performing even worse than a Ryzen 5 1600.

You should be able to use a BIOS flash with your Ryzen 5 3600, but ensure your motherboard supports it and you have the correct firmware.

The mobile model lacks a BIOS flashback function; you’ll need a different processor. If you can, inquire at your local computer shop about doing it themselves. Edited May 29, 2020 by TofuHaroto

Choose an ASRock B450 Pro4. The A320 board faces heat and power challenges because it wasn't built for six cores but an office PC with just two to four cores.
