A2 Qcode during startup with monitor connected to GPU yet not using iGPU
A2 Qcode boot process with a connected monitor, Maximus Hero XI (bios 2004...latest), Corsair Vengeance 4x16GB, Asus TUF OC 3070ti, Corsair 32UHD144, WD 2TB 850X, Windows 11 installed. All components running at normal speed with XMP1 enabled for DDR4 memory. After a recent CMOS battery replacement about six weeks ago, the system operates fine but post-boot issues persist. Occasionally it hangs or restarts itself. When the GPU/PCIe is set as default display in BIOS, I don’t see the post screen and encounter an error A2. If I switch to using a DP cable for the iGPU, the post screen appears but Windows loads without issues.
Unexpected actions are occurring, possibly unintended. Everything seems to function properly, though. Are you encountering issues with display on the GPU? If so, could you verify if the GPU is recognized in another system? Does your hardware support various firmware versions or settings?
windows will start but won’t show a post-screen. There are no options to modify firmware on the GPU, and I don’t have another machine to test the GPU. Choosing the integrated graphics in BIOS while keeping the DP cable connected to the RTX GPU lets it load, though I still can’t see a post. Selecting PCIe/GPU in BIOS causes the system to freeze before the post appears, displaying error codes A2 or 62 and preventing a successful post.
The problem isn't the iGPU itself. In the BIOS, you can choose between iGPU/PCIe/Auto Select. If you pick iGPU or AUTO and keep the DP cable connected to the RTX GPU, you won’t see a post-screen but will get video when Windows starts. Choosing PCIe/GPU in the BIOS causes the computer to freeze before the post with error codes A2 or 62.
