Hi everyone, I just moved into my new university dorm and the Wi-Fi is really poor. I’m only getting 1-2Mbps download and even less upload, plus the weak signal causes my phone to disconnect often. My room has an Ethernet port, so I was wondering if connecting a small router there could improve the connection and speeds for all my devices. Would that be a good idea? If yes, what type of router or range extender should I consider? I’m not very familiar with networking, so any advice would be super helpful.
I rechecked my lease and saw it says no range extender or access point. So I’ll stick with a 25-foot Ethernet cable and a USB-C to Ethernet adapter.
