Anything that sparks inspiration or drives someone to pursue education and real-world experience in their passion is a worthwhile investment. The fame of a successful football season fades once the game ends, while the impact of a skilled coder who creates solutions for scientists and engineers remains lasting. I’m not a HCG, but I’ve heard from a few people who were encouraged by big companies to improve and test combat or flight sims. These tools allow troops and professionals to train in high-pressure scenarios safely. So yes, gamers contribute to saving lives. Not much progress yet, but efforts are ongoing. Just a thought EOT xx
