You're looking for a budget-friendly ATX motherboard that works well with your Intel i5 3470. The best and cheapest options typically include models like the ASUS ROG STARK AORUS PRO AX 170M or the MSI MAG B550M PRO, both offering solid performance at lower prices.

The most affordable H77 or H61 board available is likely the one with the lowest price, though it may need a BIOS upgrade since it was released with Sandy Bridge. The 3470 model doesn’t generate much power and is a locked design, making it unnecessary to invest in the most expensive compatible board. Given that the i5 is a 4C/4T chip, it’s not optimal for 2020 performance.

I'm on a tight budget and just need to run simple games on that motherboard. If I upgraded my CPU, I'd choose a Ryzen 5 2400G.

It's not secured, the scaling factor may be raised by four.

I overlooked the chance to boost those chips a bit more. Still, it would need a Z68/Z77 board and wouldn’t make much difference to the CPU performance.
